Guy in front of me at Home Depot checkout... couldn't help myself, felt the need to harass him a little...started asking him about his holster, was the gun secure carrying that way - it was an odd flat position....he didn't seem to like my questions...and didn't engage in conversation.

Could've pulled his gun and whacked him over the head with it before he reacted... if you're gonna go all exposed with it, put it where you could protect someone from out-drawing you on it imho.... and kinda think it gives carriers a bad image wandering around HD with your gun exposed purposely.

This ain't the wild wild west. They should hide that gun. I was eating a few months ago and 3 young folks came in the restaurant with their guns holstered on their hips. It got a lot of attention, which I think is exactly why they did it. "Hey everybody, look at me! I have deadly force on my hip!" I didn't say anything but it is fairly easy to tell that someone is wanting attention.

I don't carry much. I'm not exactly sure why I don't - I guess largely because I've never been in one of those life or death situations and don't feel the need 99.9% of the time. I had a very bad joke played on me once when I DID think I was in a life or death situation and it's a good thing I DIDN'T have mine on me as someone woulda gotten shot.

I carry probably 90% of the time when I'm not at work. I don't see the need in open carry. I don't care if you do it, but I do think it causes unnecessary attention/angst with many. Maybe things are less likely to happen in an area with a lot of open carry, but if just one person is carrying openly he might be the first target.


Anyone have or ever used one of these?

Haven't. Interesting concept, have seen the ad,....I can't figure out how loose the waist of my pants would have to be to operate the holster. Looks like it's made for the 80's parachute pants or pleated jeans.

Maybe Norm could order one and confirm that assumption.

I've had to admit, I ain't my skinny twenty or thirty something self any more... probably not the holster for me.

I have on at least 4 occasions, seen folks open carry here in GA. I don't get out much, but 3 times I was at Wal-Mart and at least once I was at the barber shop. I DO NOT talk to these people or make eye contact for that matter. One time a kid (yes he had to be barely 21, and shaving at least twice a week) had one of the largest hog leg revolvers strapped to his side that you'd ever care to see. I was careful to note their position, and otherwise stayed out of their way. You don't have to have a permit to open carry. My last carry permit in AL prohibited me from open carry. I do not have a current GA concealed carry permit, so I don't, currently.

I just slip mine inside my belt on the backside of my pants, like Magnum

actually I carry my little pistol in a wallet size holster that interestingly enough fits in your back pocket. If need be the pistol can be fired without removing it from the holster.

I currently carry my LCP in my front pocket with a pocket holster. It fits fine, but it does take up pocket space. When you factor in keys, a phone and then crap the kids are always asking me to hold I run out of room fast. When I get the LC9S I won't be able to carry that in my pocket.

The LC9S will pocket carry if you use one of the smaller pocket holsters and don't wear designer jeans with itty bitty pockets.
