There is a difference between how many of our ancestors made their way to America and the current illegal immigrant crisis.
People came to America with the ambition to make a new life for themselves by working and opening businesses and the idea of building something better for their families.
Some of today's illegal immigrants share this ambition, but far too many are simply coming here with the hope of receiving free goods and services from our government welfare programs and dropping a kid on American soil to attain citizenship for the trouble.
Both groups sought to escape difficult situations in their homelands, only the Ellis Island group wanted to build something, the majority of this group seems simply bent on sucking resources from an already overdrawn system and never contributing anything to it.
I would prefer a minefield and a shoot to kill order at the border until things are brought under control. The message must be sent that entering this country illegally is unacceptable. If death is the only way that message is received and understood, so be it. Nothing else seems to get the message across. If the Mexicans have a problem with cleaning up dead bodies on their side of the border, they can start policing their side better. --Vultures and Coyotes approve this message.

Those Italian restaurants, warehouses, and stuff that fell off the back of trucks were completely legitimate businesses.
