Even after a few days of distance, I'm finding it hard to come up with any positives about this game.
The coaching shortcomings on display are not limited to this game and have been a long time in the making. I appreciate SW very much but this coaching staff is naieve in their expectations of him. He is not an SEC starting QB in many respects, including durability (which was known from last year). Failing to prepare your other QBs to take over earlier in the season in light of that knowledge is inexplicable, as was failing to appreciate his inability to perform during the game. Whether it's out of indecision or stubborness, this offensive coaching staff seems consistently incapable of making adjustments to changing circumstances or variables. Rhett has inherited the same traits from Gus, so the problem is not going away.
This segment from the ITAT commentary captures it all very well:
Making this thuga team look good and losing to them for the third straight time while cratering the hopes of this season is a bitter pill to swallow.
Sometimes it's tough to be an Auburn Tiger. They raise your hopes only to dash them against the rocks. This is another one of those games and years. War Eagle, anyway.

Equally as puzzling was the decision to not give one of the other quarterbacks a chance to throw the football. Sean White was obviously struggling. Georgia’s defensive coaches and players could see that and focused on stopping the run.... If the coaches don’t trust Franklin enough to throw the ball then they should have given Johnson a chance to do it. The senior has passed for right at 2,000 career yards with a better than 60 percent completion percentage. If the coaches think that Franklin can be an effective passer then they deserve blame for not giving him opportunities to throw it earlier in the season in games vs. Arkansas State, Louisiana-Monroe, Mississippi State and Arkansas after each of those contests were secured for victories. At the time the Tigers kept running, running and running the football and it didn’t make a bit of sense, particularly with an offense that needed to develop its young receivers.
When the Tigers made the decision in the second half vs. Georgia to throw the ball more than run the lack of development in the passing game along with White’s shoulder problem doomed that plan to failure. The Tigers would have been better off
to continue to run the football. Of course, they would have been much better off to have established the threat of the deep pass early in the game to give the running room to operate, but made no effort to do that.
