No Okoro, no bueno. I feel like we won't win another road game until he is back and 100% healthy. Wasn't like we were blowing the doors off of conference opponents in road games this year anyway. Bruce is a magician, but even he needs a decent deck of cards. Fight on.

Just got home. Not surprised. They do this to me every time but it’s hard to be TOO grumpy as I contend these guys have way overachieved. Did see some selfish play on several occasions where they had opportunities to dish on a 2 on 1 and instead took the contested shot rather than make the pass for an EASY bucket.

It seemed there was an effort early to get the ball in to Wiley and they went away from that after having some success. McCormick was a stud but he went to the well a few times too many trying to drive on bigger guys. Just trying to do too much several times. Several very goofy plays (flannigan trying to dribble up the middle of the court in traffic and predictably getting it stolen, Jaylin taking a bad 3/airball, etc. They moved away from playing “team” ball several times and it hurt. It happens tho. I’m disappointed that purifoy and Macklemore have all but disappeared. This was a good opportunity to make a difference and they aren’t answering the bell. Looking forward to Isaac returning.

The UGA fans were extremely nice. A lot of those sitting around us were very chatty and kind to my boys and engaged them, telling them they need to come play for UGA and such. One random guy said “good game, guys” as we were exiting and wasn’t being sarcastic. Not even one person said anything rude or tried to be an antagonist. (Normally I seem to attract that stuff for some reason as has been noted here over the years). I was honestly surprised. I presume it’s because they aren’t having a good season while we are and they were just happy to get a W. It was a very small AU crowd which surprised me as ATL has a fairly strong AU presence.

Good trip overall despite the loss. My wife and I don’t have a ton more of these trips with our boys left until they’ll be headed to school so I’m choosing to enjoy them regardless of the outcomes on the field/court.

Small AU crowd, eh... 1) no love for Athens [looking around to make sure MrsAD didn’t hear that],..2) no Okoro, no bueno..this team is scrappy, but shooter deficient IMO...you get Mo at home, hard to get on road. 3) when I heard B1 was going...4) weeknight, ..Athens 1-1/2 hrs from home..Thursday morning meeting..eh.

Agreed on all counts.....even #3. It’s so much easier just to turn on the tv to watch but given it was Winter Break, we wanted to get the kids out of the house for the day. My wife got some good tickets and done good. It’s not a bad trip really. The parking garage was right next to the stadium and while traffic stunk a bit, it didn’t help that we left later than expected (rush hour). But it was fun overall despite the score.

I hope Okoro coming back changes things, but honestly will be kind of disappointing if that’s what it takes. You can struggle on offense. That happens. It’s been a struggle all season. But you can make up for that with effort and defense, and it’s just not happening like it should.
