I know this area is for daily threads, but this is where everyone hangs out. And this deserves to be seen.
I received this from TommyD's son moments ago.

My father, Thomas Ewell Dautch, or as you knew him, MrTommyD, passed away unexpectedly of a heart attack on Saturday. He often talked about posting on these blogs, most notably the HABOTN and raved about how much he enjoyed conversing with you all about his beloved tigers, who outside of my Mother, were the love of his life.
Every time I close my eyes I can still see my father wearing his blue HABOTN hat, with the orange flame on the front. He even wore it when he visited me at my alma mater, The University of Georgia, for game days. Being an Auburn Alumni, Auburn University Marching Band Member, and all around fan was a major portion of my father’s life. It has brought my mother and me incredible comfort knowing that you all were there to help fuel a passion that meant so much to him.
I was able to visit Auburn three times with my dad, all three during the National Championship season. I am so thankful for that championship team. I am so thankful that my father was able to see glory brought to his Alma Mater before passing. True to form, our last conversation was about SEC football. When Nick Marshall was named the starting quarterback on Saturday afternoon, we spoke at length about his athletic potential and even planned out our trip to the Auburn vs. Georgia game this upcoming season. Now, this will be a trip that I will be making in his memory.
Until then, if any of you can remember, throw a roll on Toomer’s Corner for my dad this year. He will be watching you all from heaven, which if you asked him was not that far off from The Loveliest Village on the Plains anyway.
Below please find my father’s obituary that will be published in the Atlanta Journal Constitution, as well as the Gwinnett Daily post. My email is joshjohns112@gmail.com. Please let me know if you need any additional information on his service. When he is laid to rest I will be wearing a Orange and Navy tie to honor the school and the team my father so loved. Thank you all again, good luck this year, and know that the party in heaven will be just a little more lively now every time you beat Alabama. War Eagle.

Thomas Ewell Dautch, 48 (Yitzchak Yisroel ben Shmuel)
On the evening of August 17, 2014 Thomas “Tom” Dautch passed away at Gwinnett Medical Center. Tom was 48 years old.
Tom was born on the 1st of July, 1965 to Dr. Samuel and Carol Dautch. Tom and his parents maintained a beautiful and joyous relationship. Those close to their small, but blissful, family will remember them as a joyous and warm trio. Tom enjoyed countless trips with his parents, constantly maintaining and strengthening a euphoric and adventurous bond that was seen by all. Though they have lost their son, the Dautch’s have gained an entire family who love them dearly.
A dignified alumnus of Auburn University, Tom spent his collegiate career studying music alongside countless friends in the Auburn University Marching Band. As a drummer, Tom and the rest of the drums corps provided the soundtrack for some of the greatest wins in the storied history of the “Loveliest Village on the Plains”. Tom often delighted his friends and family with his proficiency in the kitchen, which brought his family together time and time.
Tom worked diligently as an employee at Quad Graphics for over 10 years. Tom enjoyed his work greatly, and was always thankful for his position within a company that allowed him to take care of the things he treasured most of all, his family and friends.
Tom will best be remembered for his insatiable zest for life paired with a radiating energy of love and kindness that was felt by every single person he met. Tom positively impacted countless lives, and the world will be a little less bright without his smiling disposition.
Tom was the proud father of Lawrenceville natives Joshua and Jessica Johns. Because of Tom’s steadfast and uncompromising love and support both Joshua and Jessica have been able to achieve their dreams in life. Both Jessica and Josh dearly loved their father, who came into their lives when he married their mother, Laura Johns, on March 4th, 2006. Tom did not only gain two children that day, but several nieces and nephews as well. Tom was a guiding and loving presence in their lives and was especially important in helping form the lives of his youngest niece and nephew, Hannah and William Johns who both loved their uncle dearly.
Of all these things, none were more important to Tom than the love of his life Laura Johns. Tom dedicated his life to making Laura happy, the outcome of which provided her and her children with the best years of their lives. Their marriage serves as an example of a pure and unselfish love, which even his untimely death cannot break. Laura’s family adores Tom and his beloved parents, and Tom’s presence in all of their lives was nothing short of a blessing, one that will not be soon forgotten.
Services will be held on Tuesday, August 20th at 4:00 PM at Gwinnett Memorial Park located at 925 U.S. Hwy 29, South in Lawrenceville, Georgia. If severely inclement weather persists, services will be held at Wages and Sons funeral home. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to one of Tom’s favorite charities, The American Red Cross.
