BCS Tickets

let me know if anybody would like to participate.


I know a lot of you are wondering about lots of things regarding the BCS National Championship Game, so here is what I know so far.

First off regarding tickets, we do not have any special ins regarding tickets. Auburn University's allotment will be distributed to large donors and booster, faculty and staff, and students. The University has recommended Stubhub. I also know primesport.com will have tickets and packages and from my own personal experience in the past razorgator.com and ticketcity.com are very reputable.

I need to gauge interest regarding whether or not any of our club members would like to go in on renting a bus. We are in the process of pricing out what the cost will be to rent a bus and get the proper permits to bring the bus into the Rose Bowl area. So if that is something you are interested in please let me know.

At this point it does not look like the Auburn Alumni Association will be allowed to put a hospitality tailgate tent at the game. We are aware that primesports will be putting on one with a price of $405 per person.

We are still waiting to get information on when and where a Pep rally will take place. It will most likely take place over the weekend prior to the game. As soon as that information has been decided I will pass it on to all of you.

And finally if any of you have emailed me and I have not responded yet I sincerely apologize. I have received over 1500 emails from people all over the country and honestly just can't keep up with the amount that is coming in. Look out for more information as it comes in.

Hey, so, I know Chris does mainly TV stuff, but is there any chance he could get a fellow Auburn man a free popcorn voucher that the next movie premier?

Well if he can't get you BCSCG tickets, what makes you think he can you free popcorn vouchers?

My .02 worth:

Glendale was an awful site for this game. Not many tickets available at site. Those that were available were asking $4k-$5k. At halftime they were still asking $2,500.
I flew to Vegas from B'ham, stayed at Bally's for $55/night. Took the alumni bus to Glendale. Fellow FC member came up with a ticket at regular price ($325.00). Total trip with ticket was less than $900.

Close friend, UA fan, went to Pasadena in 2009. Paid $600 per ticket. Says that place holds 110,000. No upper deck. Stadium goes out and up not just up like Neyland and others. Says there is no bad seat. At game time, tickets were going for less than face value.

If I go, I am flying to Vegas. Saw a link elsewhere to ride a bus to Pasadena (3.5 hour drive) from Vegas, put together from some guy that live sin Auburn. Price includes tailgate and other amenities. Or I may just rent a van and take a group with me to the game. I doubt I go without a ticket.

Ticketmaster will have tickets at regular price this week. Even though AU and FSU received their allotment today. I think a lot of tickets will come on the market this week. I am hoping the price drops to about $500-$550 per ticket. Stubhub was $525 Saturday night after our game. They went to $1,000 after lunch on Sunday. They are coming down to $800 this evening.

I am holding out until I get a lower price. May be the wrong strategy but I can wait.

We're trying to wait too. Just have our room in Ontario right now. Broker thinks they will come down once the market opens up just can't wait too long. Still feeling out flights too but not going to Vegas as I have to go out there first week in Feb already! Got lots of feelers out!!

My dad is itching to go. He was on a cruise during the 2011 game. Watched it on the ship with some O fans.

We've been looking at Hotwire for flights and at LA airport hotels and Vegas.

I can fly from New Orleans to LV and stay at Luxor Saturday-Tuesday for about $500/person
I can fly from New Orleans to LAX (direct) and stay at the Airport Sheraton for about $800/person

Still up in the air as to whether I need to go with family responsibilities.
I'm thinking ticket prices aren't going to be an issue with the stadium capacity.

WOOHOOO!!! Got the email this morning!! I immediately put my order in for my 2 tickets!! Of course, it says AU reserves the right to refund in case of over subscriptions.. Looks like the e-mail went out around midnight. Didn't even know I had contributed enough. I am sure it will be in nose bleed but at least I'll be inside the stadium! Still looking for 2-3 more if any one has a lead.

Now I'm ready to make airline reservations.

I did the Vegas bus trip last time as well. It was a blast and I highly recommend it for anyone coming from the East Coast. I too went without a ticket but felt lucky to find one for $1K. The catch? It was in the student section. First time I had been in the student section for almost 20 years and I must say I had an incredible time.

I live in CA and have friends in So Cal so all I need is a ticket at a reasonable price (cough, cough, cough).

Edit: By the way, last time I was in the Rose Bowl was for the 2007(?) USC-Michigan Rose Bowl. I'm not sure if they have updated it since them but while it is true there really aren't any bad seats, getting in and out of the stadium and lack of adequate concessions is a nightmare. Spent the entire third quarter in line to buy beer. Plan accordingly.

Currently sold out with EIGHT buses already filled. Bus tix is $85. If I can get a game tix anywhere around face, I may be able to pull this off. Buses will arrive at game site 6 hours prior to kick, and return to LV in the early morning hours Tuesday.
