It is finally that time of year for some outlandish predictions. In reality, any guess about the SEC West is probably as good as any other one. The division is that good.
1. Auburn wins the SEC West
2. Auburn's toughest opponent will be Georgia.
3. Arkansas will come up second in the SEC West.
4. Alabama will lose at least 3 regular season games.
5. If the heat rises at Texas, look for the Saban to Texas rumors to crank up.
6. Mississippi State is the pick I think is safest. They will finish 7th in the SEC West.
7. LSU will likely finish 6th in the SEC West, although I can see them anywhere from 5th to 7th. Yea, they are the one team I think could possibly unseat Mississippi State.
8. The East will be a toss-up between Georgia and Tennessee. The Tennessee game will be Georgia's opportunity to crash and burn.
9. Missouri will remain a force in the East, but likely finish 3rd.
10. Vandy is in for one heck of a beating this season. Even Kentucky will be good enough to play other SEC teams tough. Vandy will not.
11. Auburn will have their best defense since early in the 2008 season. They were actually not as far away as some would have you believe and getting Muschamp and some great recruits will only enhance that. Lawson and Lambert providing pass rush will make a huge difference, but bringing in guys like Holland, Cowart, and an impressive set of DBs will make a huge difference, especially Countess and Matthews.
12. Jeremy Johnson will break the Auburn single season passing record, and it won't even be close.
13. Nick Chubb will lead the SEC in rushing and be a Heisman finalist. He is that darn good.
